I just loved "Maiden of Pain". It is hard to go through a divorce; to write an honest and thoughtful book about the feelings and actions leading up to one takes great courage. My advice to you, if, like me, you do not enjoy the benefits of the classroom, is to study Black thoroughly, master it and then let Mounce add to your knowledge.. The tips highlighted in blue are also helpful.. It will have a permanent place on bookshelf (once it arrives) as I have found it quite useful in comparing marine water chemistry to soil and water (S=~0) chemistry. Dean's books are sprinkled with life lessons, educational materials and furry kitties, all the while speaking directly to you as a reader. In my opinion such (sometimes long) parts of the book where he somehow deviates from the main line in dubious digressions, lessen its interest and mostly spoil its rythm.
I also miss a little bit more of factual information about the bears. I would highly recommend this book. Despite the exterior
