I think this is a wonderful book for any young child to read. David weathered the travails of no-show contractors, uncooperative copperheads, and a stunning, unexpected ice storm that literally ripped the power out of his cabin, shutting him off from the outside world. One problem with books like these with multiple approaches is that it can lead to confusion about which method to use.
