I admire the author for sharing with us such a personal time. Immediate simpathy arised. For example, there are two photos of the 1274 Act of Union between Emperor John 8 Palaeologus and the Roman Church signed at the 2nd Council of Lyon (a document for which no pic is readily found on Google). Freedmans personal experience as both a mother of four children and from work and research with mothers in the Amazonian Jungle and India where the practise of infant massage has long been a part of their cultural tradition.
